Radiant Floor Heating is a very simple idea of heating the floor of a room, and letting that heat rise to bring the room to a comfortable temperature. The floor is conductively heated by circulating a heated liquid through tubing laid under the top floor. That heat then naturally rises from the floor to the room, creating a very comfortable heating level, with a lower ambient air temperature. Conventional forced air systems just blow hot air around your home, leaving you with cold spots, drafts, and most of the heat at the ceiling, when you need it near the floor where most household activities are.
Radiant Heating systems have been around for thousands of years and date back to the Romans, who used it as a central form of heating to keep bathhouses and private residences heated.
